Grace in Transition

Damaris Achar identifies deeply with the turbulence women experience during the perimenopausal transition. Her personal journey led her to seek medical intervention, but the experience also stirred a desire to explore safer and more natural ways of supporting women through this season.

Her research, conducted in Njoro, Nakuru County, examined the influence of natural plant-derived foods containing phytoestrogens on the symptoms of perimenopause. The findings, together with her personal experience and passion for women’s wellbeing, gave birth to this book.

Welcome to the Book Launch

“Impacting lives with Christian literature”

What led you to write this book, and what personal journey, experience, or conviction inspired its message?

The inspiration for writing this book began with a word from God delivered through a young lady who was a complete stranger to me. Her message ignited a flame within me and stirred me to begin meditating on the subject. Later, God placed another word in my heart that became the foundation for my research and writing.

As I searched for answers, I discovered that I myself had experienced some of the very challenges I was researching. I sought medical help but found that many of my questions remained unanswered. This convinced me that there was knowledge that needed to be uncovered, documented, and shared to help others who may be walking the same journey. I felt compelled to write so that others could find understanding, hope, and practical guidance.

Who is the primary audience for this book, and how do you hope it will impact their spiritual growth, prayer life, or daily walk with God?

I believe this book is written for the entire family and the wider community. Knowledge is power, and many people experience changes in life without understanding what they are going through.

My prayer is that readers will recognize some of the experiences they may be facing, gain a better understanding of them, and discover practical and biblical solutions that bring healing and transformation. As individuals find hope and restoration, I believe families, communities, and society as a whole will also benefit.

As you were writing, was there a particular chapter, devotion, or theme that resonated deeply with you or carried special significance? Why?

All the chapters are meaningful to me, but one section stands out above the rest: creating a safe space within the home.

The family is the foundation of society. Everything revolves around it. When families are hurting, broken, or out of balance, the effects are felt throughout the community and the nation.

While writing, I reflected on the testimony of a young person published in the Nation Media in 1985, describing painful experiences at home and how those experiences shaped the adult they eventually became. That account deeply touched my heart because I realized it represents the hidden reality of many homes today. Unless such issues are addressed, they continue to affect generations. Creating healthy, safe families is therefore one of the greatest investments we can make in society.

In what ways did the process of writing this book shape your faith, perspective, ministry, or personal relationship with God?

Writing this book has been a long but deeply rewarding journey. It has strengthened my faith and reminded me that whenever God speaks, my responsibility is simply to step into the waters and trust Him to lead me, regardless of how long the journey may take.

Throughout the writing process, I often reflected on the book Men from God’s School, which illustrates how God develops His servants through different experiences. In much the same way, this journey has matured me spiritually, broadened my perspective, and given me a fresh understanding of ministry and God’s faithfulness.

For someone encountering this book for the first time, why do you believe its message is especially relevant and valuable in this season of their life?

I would encourage anyone who feels drawn to this message to read this book because it offers hope to those who may feel overwhelmed, confused, or discouraged during life’s transitions.

It has the potential to rescue someone who feels as though they are sinking and to bring understanding where there has been uncertainty. My prayer is that readers will not only find encouragement for themselves but will also be equipped to support others who are walking through similar experiences.
