Welcome to the Book Launch

“Impacting lives with Christian literature”

What inspired you to write this book, and when did you know this message needed to be shared?

Two significant people in my work and academic journey clearly told me that I could write a book.

One day, I was asked to share a message during a church group visit to one of our ministers who had just welcomed a newborn child. It was to be a message of thanksgiving. As I prepared, I began to realize just how much there is to thank God for. Everywhere I turned during that season, I found reminders of thanksgiving, to God and to the many people who touch our lives.

That experience inspired me, and I knew that the book I was to write would be about cultivating an attitude of gratitude.

Who do you hope will read this book, and what do you hope they will take away from it?

I believe this book will benefit believers who need encouragement in different seasons of life, whether facing crisis, sickness, loss, loneliness, or uncertainty. It is also for those seeking joy, peace, and contentment in their daily lives.

My hope is that readers will come to understand that in every situation, there is always something to thank God for.

Was there a chapter or personal story that was particularly difficult or meaningful for you to write?

The most difficult section to write was where I describe losing my mother through progressive dementia over a period of six years. In many ways, I felt I had lost her long before she actually passed away.

It was a painful journey, filled with many tears. However, I eventually found myself thanking God that my mother’s face would still light up whenever she saw me, even if she could no longer remember my name. I was grateful that although she did not always recognize me, the Lord was with her and continued to care for her.

How did writing this book shape your own faith and perspective on gratitude?

Writing this book broadened my understanding of gratitude. First Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” That Scripture became very practical to me.

I now intentionally look for something to be grateful for in every situation, no matter how small, sometimes only in hindsight. I have also come to appreciate and internalize the many spiritual benefits of gratitude. The writing process exposed me to numerous biblical passages on thankfulness and strengthened my faith.

Why is this book especially relevant for someone reading it today?

I would encourage them to read this book because it will help them pause and recognize that, in every circumstance, there is something to thank God for, even if that realization comes later.

The book also highlights the many benefits of gratitude, including joy, peace, and contentment in daily life. In addition, readers will be encouraged by the experiences of others who have learned to be grateful in a variety of life situations.
