Dr. Jebet Naomy Olero is a born-again Christian, environmentalist, water resources management professional, author, songwriter, worship leader, and the Founding Director of Kingdom Intimate Worship (KIW) Ministry.
She has composed over 200 inspirational and patriotic hymns, including Jesus Christ Is Born, A Million Thanks, A Jealous God, Maranatha, No One Like Jehovah, Worshipping God, Put on the Armour of God, Africa, Take Refuge in God, and Pray for Kenya.
She is passionate about God, worship, children, and the next generation, with a deep desire to see children know Christ personally, grow in His Word, and become godly leaders who influence their families, communities, and nations. Convinced that children are an integral part of the Church today, she uses music, hymns, Scripture, and worship to nurture their faith and cultivate an intimate relationship with God.
She is married to Hantone, and together they are blessed with four sons and one granddaughter. The family resides in Nairobi, Kenya.

The 21st Century Hymns are songs drawn from the Word of God by the Anointing of the Holy Ghost and grafted skillfully through the leading and inspiration of God. The hymns unfold in dimensions aimed at transforming the entire body of Christ in worshipping God with a deeper revelation and understanding. The Spirit in the words of the hymns will be alive in your life and in your circumstances as God ministers to your situation. The hymnal is an important tool for corporate worship and is highly recommended to all and especially the children. Ephesians 5:19 says “speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord”. Kingdom Intimate Worship yearns for a lifestyle of hearty worship which ascends to the throne of God causing a release of His presence to the body of Christ.

Music has immense cognitive and health benefits for humanity, particularly at a tender age when cognitive expansion is rapid and learning ability is at its optimum. It reinforces language skills, builds, and improves the ability to read, and strengthens attention and memory. Students face tough challenges such as anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues during their academic life, which affect their academic performance and ultimately impact their future careers and the nation’s wealth.
Drug abuse as an apparent solution to mental problems among students has aggravated the situation, leading to further mental health complications and disorders. The 21st Century Children Hymns contain patriotic and inspirational songs for worshipping God aimed at building godly character, improving the student’s psychological well-being, and laying a foundation for excellence in academics, career performance, and the prosperity of our nation. “Impacting lives with Christian literature”
In 2014, the Lord gave me a clear instruction to write quality songs that would last a century. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I began composing hymns, and in 2018 I published 21st Century Hymns, a collection containing both children’s and adult songs.
The Lord later directed me to prepare a separate hymnal specifically for children. By His grace, that is the book we are launching today.
This children’s hymnal comes in two versions:
The book includes songs of praise and worship, Christian living, Gospel and missions, Israel and patriotic songs, the National Anthem, the Apostles’ Creed, and guided prayers for repentance, morning, evening, and self-examination.
Most importantly, every hymn is anchored in Scripture. Each song is linked to a Bible verse so that as children memorize the hymns, they are also memorizing God’s Word. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will plant these Scriptures deeply in their hearts and guide them throughout their lives.
The primary audience is children, especially those between the ages of five and fifteen. However, it is also a valuable resource for parents, Sunday school teachers, children’s ministry leaders, schools, churches, and families.
My hope is that these hymns will become more than songs children sing—they will become tools of discipleship. Through them, children can learn biblical truth, memorize Scripture, understand the Gospel, develop a vibrant prayer life, and grow in worship.
I also pray that these hymns will instill values such as love, unity, obedience, forgiveness, faith, patriotism, and responsibility. As children sing them at home, in church, or at school, I trust the words will take root in their hearts and shape their lives. I also hope this book equips parents and teachers to intentionally raise a godly generation.
One of the themes that resonates most deeply with me is intimacy with God.
The name of my ministry, Kingdom Intimate Worship, reflects my conviction that worship is much more than singing songs—it is a lifestyle and a personal relationship with God. I want children to learn this from an early age.
Another significant theme is the cross of Christ and salvation. Children need to understand the love of Jesus, His sacrifice, and His invitation into a personal relationship with Him. The Gospel should never be complicated for children.
Recently, during an overnight prayer meeting, I witnessed something profound. Around midnight, I saw the cross glowing with radiant light—a powerful reminder of God’s boundless love and amazing grace.
I am also deeply passionate about hymns that teach Scripture. My prayer is that the words children sing today will remain rooted in their hearts and continue reminding them throughout their lives of who God is and who they are in Him.
Writing 21st Century Children’s Hymns deepened my understanding of our responsibility to intentionally invest in the next generation.
Throughout the writing process, I was continually reminded that children are precious treasures entrusted to us by God. It challenged me to consider the spiritual foundation we are laying for them and the legacy we will leave behind.
The process also strengthened my faith and reinforced my conviction that God can use something as simple as a child singing a hymn to accomplish His purposes.
As Psalm 8:2 reminds us:
“Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength…”
Writing this book has also strengthened my ministry. It confirmed my belief that worship and discipleship should begin early in life and inspired me to continue writing, recording, and developing resources that help children grow spiritually.
For me, this book is more than a publication—it is part of God’s assignment to raise a godly generation through worship and His Word.
I believe 21st Century Children’s Hymns is especially relevant because children today are growing up in a rapidly changing world filled with competing influences. More than ever, they need a strong spiritual foundation rooted in God’s truth.
This book introduces biblical truths through music—a language children naturally enjoy and remember. We must give children more than entertainment; we must give them God’s Word. We must teach them to pray, worship, love God, love others, and understand their purpose.
My greatest prayer is that these hymns will be sung in homes, churches, Sunday schools, schools, and children’s gatherings across Kenya and beyond.
I envision a generation confidently declaring:
“I know Jesus, I know my God, I love His Word, I know how to worship Him, and I understand that I have a purpose in His Kingdom.”
Ultimately, this hymnal is my contribution toward raising a generation that knows God and is prepared to serve Him. When we invest in children today, we are investing in the future of the Church, our communities, and our nations.
Dr. Jebet N. K. Olero first joined the CLC ecosystem in 2022 through her book, The 21st Century Hymns. Since then, she has become like a sister to me. Her journey with CLC continued through our writing classes, where she developed more books and expanded the ministry resources entrusted to her.
One of the qualities I admire most about Dr. Jebet is her genuine love for people. She did not keep the opportunity to grow as a writer to herself. Instead, she mobilised family and friends who also desired to write and encouraged them to join the CLC writing classes. To me, that is the mark of a servant leader: someone who grows while intentionally helping others to grow alongside her.
That same heart is clearly reflected in her ministry to children. The 21st Century Children’s Hymns is not simply a book produced for the marketplace. It is a deliberate investment in the spiritual lives of children.
Earlier this month, I accompanied my mother, Lucy John, to her church upcountry. I grew up singing from Kikuyu hymn books, and as I entered that church, words I had not sung in more than two decades returned to me, line by line. In that moment, I was reminded of the lasting power of music.
This is why I believe The 21st Century Children’s Hymns is an investment not only in this generation, but also in those to come. Because these hymns are firmly rooted in Scripture, they have the potential to help God’s Word dwell richly in the hearts of children and remain with them throughout their lives.
